TWD: Peppermint Ice Cream Puff Ring

I know I'm late in posting my entry for TWD. I blame it on my bad habit of doing things at the last minute. So when an attempt on a new TWD recipe failed on TUESDAY itself, there's nothing much I can do to salvage the situation. I would have to either miss the entry for the week, or try it out again the next day.

This is exactly what happened to my puff rings. The puffs were okay, but I overwhipped the cream a little too much and I had to throw it away. As I do not have any fresh cream left and I was almost late for my Japanese class, I almost wanted to give it up if not for the puff rings that were already done. The "Playing Around" section in the book suggested ice cream as an alternative to whipped cream and I decided then to have ice cream with the puffs.

After I came back from class last night, I made a batch of ice cream and I assembled the puff ring dish this morning. So there you have it.... Peppermint & Strawberry Ripple Ice Cream Puff Ring!

Recipe can be found here.

Ice cream with puffs are nice, I will enjoy them as much. You are amazing, making home-made puffs with home-made ice cream on the same day.

I thought about trying ice cream with it but wasn't sure if the ice cream would be too havy for the puff. I'm going to try it tonight! Awesome job!
