Pan-fried Pork Belly

This is what I came up with for our lunch today - pan-fried pork belly, yum!

After lunch, we shared a bowl of tomato and rose wine sorbet.

Pan-fried Pork Belly Recipe

300g pork belly, sliced
1/4 onion, slice thinly, soak in ice water until ready to be used
1/2 cucumber, cut into thin slices

3 tablespoons grated ginger
5 tablespoons light soy sauce
3 tablespoons sake
1/2 teaspoons sugar
1/4 teaspoons salt
Black pepper, to taste

1) Mix all ingredients for marinade in a bowl. Pour over the pork slices and marinate for at least 2 hours.
2) Heat up a wok with a tablespoon of oil. Pan-fried the pork slices until both sides turn golden brown.
3) Continue to cook the pork slices for a few more minutes and when the pork slices are almost cooked, pour the remaining marinade into the wok.
4) Do a few quick stirs, dish up and then serve with sliced onions and cucumbers.

G, why is your pan fried pork belly don't seems to have fats? Definitely make this yummy dish eat without guilt.

Now that red wine sorbet sure goes down well after that main.

Edith - The pork belly slices do have lots of fats. But I think the fats were not visible in the picture because it's masked by the dark sauce.
