TWD: Tall and Creamy Cheesecake

I think my cheesecake deserves an award for being the ugliest cheesecake ever! To divert your attention away from the ugly cheesecake, I've placed some nice looking strawberries as garnish, does that work? ;-)

I made only 1/4 portion of the recipe because I have to bake all the recipes picked for the month of January within these two weeks and then I'll be back to Singapore for a month (yay!). I made a lemon version and all I got was a mini 2.5-inch cheesecake. Anyway, it was definitely overbaked, as the top of the cake was in dark brown color. Taste wise, well, as I'm not a big fan of cheesecake, it tasted ok for me, not overly dense and heavy. Hubby liked it a lot though, and he thought the cheesecake looked ok too, until I showed him the picture from the cookbook... and then he laughed out loud. Hmm...

Head over to Anne's blog if you want to give the recipe a try!

In the mean time, here's wishing all of you, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Hmm.. those strawberries must be doing their job, because I don't think the cheesecake looks ugly at all! :P But the fact that your husband laughed after seeing the original picture, makes me curious as to what it's mean to look like..

I swear the one in the book is a different recipe - everyone's seems to have browned a lot. And it's just so cute! I am such a sucker for minis :)

OH! How jealous I am... for you flaunt those strawberries under our frozen, runny, siberian noses!

This looks so fresh and happy, it almost makes you forget each slice is 3 quazillion calories! LOL

Absolutely perfect, Piggy!

Even on the other side of the world and right smack in the middle of hot and dreamy weather, I'm sure you guys still get a new years day...! LOL So have a very happy one, wishing you many reasons to smile, laugh and be happy throughout 2009!

Your mini is adorable! I made 3/4 recipe, and mine browned a bunch also. It sure is good, though, so creamy and almost fluffy. Great job!
