TWD: Dulce de Leche Duos
I spent the whole of last week with my friend who came to Taipei for holidays. We went to lots of interesting places, checking out local foods and also did some shopping. By mid week, I was completely exhausted, but we had such a great time that I started to miss her as soon as she left!
With such a busy schedule, I had no time to check whether dulce de leche is available in local stores or not. I was prepared to give up dulce de leche duos recipe until I saw this wonderful post written by Julie in TWD site. So I bought a can of condensed milk and followed David Lebovitz's recipe. It worked, even though it took me close to 2 hours to get a tub of nicely caramelised dulce de leche. But it is definitely less scarier than boiling a can of sealed condensed milk, in my opinion!
As the cake-like cookies has already got dulce de leche in them, you can imagine how sweet they are when eaten with the filling. I prefer to have the cookies plain, and they taste great with a cup of tea!
If you want to give the recipe a try, head over to Jodie's blog!

Love making dulce de leche, but use crock pot method now.
